There’s nothing quite like a New York State Museum wedding! Anyone local to the Capital Region is familiar with the views. From the Corning Tower which you can see from miles away to the uniquely original and fascinating “The Egg. From the dramatic Cathedral of Immaculate Conception to the breathtaking Capitol buildingto the steps of the Museum. This venue and area offer so much unique architecture, history and views – a stunning space and location for a truly Capital Region wedding.
Having been born in, worked and lived in Albany – I find the New York State Museum to be truly iconic!
I love bringing brides, grooms, wedding parties, and even couples here to shoot.
The photo opportunities are endless, whether right on the New York State Plaza, the surrounding Capitol and Education buildings, or walking around downtown Albany, New York.
It seemed only right to bring some wedding inspo to this place. A mix of modern and chic against the straight lines of the museum steps, and a bit of edge and unexpected. Just like the New York State Plaza itself, I wanted to showcase an alternative option to the traditional Albany wedding or elopement.
Excited to share some of my favorite shots of Swaila & Asim, our lovely bride and groom for this day. We made good use of the best that Albany, NY has to offer! Proof that you don’t have to search to the ends of the earth just to take beautiful photos. Sometimes the best spots are (almost) right in your backyard!
The team did an amazing job glamming up Swaila! She rocked a modern and almost futuristic, yet soft bridal look on Swaila. Loved the white on white look against the walls of the Plaza and the pop of color from her bouquet from Olive & June Floral, Co. A hint at bridal without being traditional.
After popping some bottles on the Empire State Plaza, we headed over to the museum for some stunning portraits. Swaila and Asim were all for a good time and it was so fun watching the magical chemistry between them! Against the backdrop of the Albany skyline and the New York State Museum at golden hour, these two light up the night!
